What is the psyche of the rapist?

What drives the rapist to behave so? If a female is raped, it is the male who is not in control of his emotions. Besides, the real sign of masculinity is his protectiveness. His ability to "overpower" someone weaker than him,shows his weakness, inferiority in his masculinity. Be it Aruna Shanbhag, Nirbhaya, Jisha, innumerable victims who have been at the receiving end of weaknesses of poor examples of men. Wish to find out "does rape, amount to losing "izzat"(girl's and her family's hoour) by the victim, or the rapist(s) showing sad specimens of masculinity?"

MP Sivasubramanian Absolutely true. These pathetic men show their physical strength when the women is alone, physically weak and vulnerable. These men cannot in any way show their physical or mental strength in a competitive atmosphere involving others equally strong. Such men have no place on earth. They deserve nothing better than death, that too painful death.

Savitri Sreenivasan I wish some journo would interview rapists to find out why they do so.. I mean the usual reasons she asked for it etc no longer valid. Why do educated men who are public figures like pachauri, tehelka guy indulge in molestation? Why are toddlers raped...Are there any warning signs which girls should be wary of. There was a ghastly case in tamil nadu of a girl barely in her teens raped regularly by her dad, brother and uncle( her mom was dead or separated). The matter came out when - I think- the girl wanted to stop going to school and on enquiry she told her teacher. Is it time for society- and govt- to ensure safety of girls at homes where there is no female member? Not that there aren't cases of mothers being silent witnesses of their husband molesting their daughter. Perhaps teachers should be trained to watch out for signs of distress in their girl students.

Purnima Rao How can such guys be identified? If they can be, I m sure, they can be reformed. Mother might have been raped n then humiliated by society. So to take revenge, she may brought up and encouraged his rebellious attitude. Vicious cycle.

Also a man without a Father figure in life & an abusive mother - is ripe for becoming criminal - you can sympathize with how it turned out, but it is too late for many, so don't bother.
The biggest stupidity of many women is that they think they can turn around assholes (& thus sexually attracted to assholes), but all they do is waste their 20's & 30's on it & finally realize in their 40's that they wasted their PRIME life on a useless activity & now they're too old to restart their lives after losing their fertile age.

It took social media to bring light to the case. The Mother repeatedly asserts that the LDF MLA of that area Saju Paul is behind this....Why is no other media reporting this? why are the police not questioning him?
