It is difficult to bring up children these days. What with nuclear families, family ties not as desired, peer pressure, exposure to matter not suitable for their age, lack of teaching proper human values when they should have been.
Have seen children these days disobeying parents, treating them as slaves, using them to fulfill their selfish needs. There have bee extreme cases where children take pride and boast that they hit the parents! Where will this lead us to? It is said that parents are given by God. If we illtreat them, they might be taken away.

We must not allow children to grow up as bane to us and society
1.Strict control over what the children are exposed to. Ensure that it is right for them. Their maturity level discriminates if it is not good for them
2. Keep children out of parental arguments and fights.
3.Educate children to discriminate between what is good and bad for them. That way, they can steer clear of what's bad for them.
4. Teach them by giving them practical experiences in helping and respecting others, all living beings, humans or otherwise.
5.Do not encourage ego, pride, greed, anger.
6. Encourage them forgiveness, tolerance, patience...
7.Make it a habit to praise whatever is good in them.
8.If children play one parent against the other, firmly nip off this habit in the bud.
9.When children know to steer clear of bad influences, appreciate and thank them. They will thank you in future.
10.Since, respecting will have become a habit, parents too will not be abandoned in their old age.
